Special THANKS to our 250 guests that attended the 5th Annual Benefit Gala on Saturday, September 17th and others who supported financially but could not be present. The Gala was a huge success. We were so touched and humbled by the outpouring of love and support. Together, we raised about $50,000 to support the free primary Christian education for 200 students at the Annie T. Doe Memorial Academy, and Women Empowerment initiatives in Liberia, West Africa.
The evening kicked off with a meet and greet cocktail hour, red carpet, and a silent auction hosted by Stacee Michelle while Miss Brittney Pasquale serenaded the arriving guests with her live vocals adding warmth to the evening.

Guests enjoyed a three course meal in an elegant ball room after Bishop S. Solomon Faraj, Sr. of Kingdom Destiny Ministries, GA offered an opening prayer.  Nine year old, Emmanuel Sio followed with his rendition of the National Anthem “Star Spangle Banner“. Young Emmanuel stole the show for the evening.
Johnette Karpeh introduced the Master of Cermony, Jacotron Potts followed by Janneh Peters, Director of the Annie T Doe Family Health Program who introduced our Chairman and Founder, Saya Doe Sio.

Founder and Chairman, Saya Doe-Sio, highlighted the Foundation’s key accomplishments including a 33% increase in student enrollment from 150 to 200 students for 2016-2017. The 2015 school year was very successful with 80% of 150 students promoted to the next grade level. Six additional programs were launched: Feed the Future, Tech-2-Connect, Girls Computer Literacy Training, Soccer-4-Life, Women Sewing Training, and Annie T. Doe Community Scholarships Award.
Chairman Sio concluded with a powerful story about Geneva Williams, a student who lost both parents during the EBOLA crisis. The academy has become the beacon of HOPE  for Geneva. “We cannot stop because of Geneve and many others like her”.

Francis Sio, Director of Strategy and Finance presented the Annie T. Doe Memorial Foundation 2016 Humanitarian Award to the awe-inspiring keynote speaker, Founder and President of the Samaritian’s Feet, Mr. Emmanuel Manny Ohonme.
Mr. Ohonme shared how his life changed forever in Nigeria, when a missionary gave him his first pair of shoes at age 9.  Those shoes became a symbol of hope and served as the catalyst to Manny’s dream of helping humanity, known today as Samaritan’s Feet International.

The Student Sponsorship Fundraiser was hosted by Board Member, Linda Reeves followed by Advisor, Leroy Foster who led the Live Auction bid.
The evening was full of entertainment with SHAE Production performing a traditional African dance, and a surprise fashion show from Elegance by Olive. The night ended with our Chairman, Sio closing remarks and followed by grand march, music and dancing.
Gratitude goes out to each of you again for allowing us to continue to stand on your shoulders to give the gift of education to so many underprivileged children.  We cannot thank you enough for standing with us as we continue our journey to leave this world better than we met it. May God richly bless you! See you next year.
