Regina is 6 years old and a 1st grader at the Annie T. Doe Memorial Academy. She lives with her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters in a small room in a house with a zinc roof. Neither of her parents are employed right now and do whatever they can daily to survive.
Regina is already exceptionally good at reciting her vowels and consonants and she is learning to read. Only a third of the children in Liberia have access to early learning programs and only 54% of them complete their primary education through 6th grade. For children like Regina, it is critical to secure a sponsorship that will enable her to continue her education and become a nurse when she grows up.
