Women’s Empowerment
Our projects
Empowering The Global Woman
“There is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women,”
- Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
Over the past 13 years, hundreds of women have benefitted from our various skills training programs and have become entrepreneurs, owning their own businesses upon graduation. In addition, we create job opportunities for the women that complete our 6-month, free sewing training program by giving them the opportunity to produce uniforms for our 600 students annually.
The program Empowers, Connects, Teaches, Reaffirms, and Reassures that “The Global Woman” has a unique place and that her voice is powerful.
Empowerment programs includes:
1. Six-month sewing & The Global Woman Production House
2. Interior & Fashion Design
3. Tie & Dying, Clorox & Soap Making – Soap-2-Save
4. Microfinancing loan
5. Computer literacy training
6. The Global Woman Tea & Shop
Annie T. Doe Memorial Foundation Key Programs
On March 24, 2021, our U.S.-based team launched the final phase of the ATDOE Women’s Microfinancing Program in Monrovia, Montserrado County, Liberia. Through this initiative, 66 women from Bassa, Nimba, and Montserrado counties received interest-free small business loans, payable over 12 months, after completing microfinance training.
These empowered women have pledged to serve as brand ambassadors for the ATDOE Women’s Empowerment Program—spreading awareness and inspiring others.
We are deeply grateful to our anonymous donor for investing in the futures of these women.
Program Expansion
To further support women’s economic independence, we are expanding our empowerment program to include:
-
Soap and Clora making
-
Tie-dye and fabric design
-
Interior decorating
-
Fashion and tailoring skills
Together, we’re equipping women with practical tools to build sustainable businesses and stronger communities.
